NNNGO commemorates the Day of the African Child with UNICEF.

As part of activities to commemorate the 2011 Day of the African Child, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and partners made a public presentation of a series of short films produced by Kuramo Street Children. The theme for this year is “All together for urgent action in favour of street children.”

President Goodluck Jonathan Gets Marching Orders

The Civil Society community in Nigeria has called on the newly-elected President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to hearken to the passionate appeals of Nigerians to prioritise his agenda for the economic transformation of the country within his initial four-year term by according power generation, education and the health sector top priorities.

In a survey conducted by the Nigeria Network of NGOs immediately after his inauguration on May 29, 89 per cent of respondents said power generation should be accorded the right of place while 58 per cent said that the falling standard of education should be addressed while another 47 per cent said the health sector should be given the right attention.
