1.9 million people, in 36 States of Nigeria joined 43.7 million
people to break the Guinness World Record – set in 2006 at 23.5
million – for the largest number of people to “STAND UP AGAINST
POVERTY AND FOR THE MILLENNIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS” in 24 hours.
In communities, schools, churches, mosques, organizations thousands
stood and spoke out to demand a more urgent political response to
the growing crisis of poverty and inequality in Nigeria. They called
on our national government and leaders to keep their commitments
made in the Millennium Development Goals.
