Social Protection Floor Initiative (SPFI) for CSOs in the Commonwealth Countries of Central and West Africa ends In Douala, Cameroon.

Just back from Douala, Cameroon, on a regional workshop for Civil Society Organisations in the Commonwealth countries, our Admin Officer, Ms. Oyindamola Akinpelu, in this write-up shared her experience in Cameroon and explained that “The Social Protection Floor Initiative (SPFI) was adopted by the UN Chief Executives Board in April 2009 as a response to the global financial and economic crisis. In June 2010 on the initiative of ICSW the 2,700 attendees of the World Conference of International Association of Schools of Social Work, ICSW and the International Federation of Social Workers adopted the SPFI as part of a joint global policy Agenda. After the conference the General Assembly of ICSW members adopted the SPFI a core part of the ICSW global programme.
